sheetmetal
fasteners overview
In addition to the standard
fasteners, the NUTS'N BOLTS
library now includes more than
400 captive sheetmetal fasteners!
These fasteners are programmed
as SolidWorks Library Features,
utilising SolidWork's built
in FeaturePalette.
Inserting captive nuts, studs,
anchor rivet bushes etc is as
easy as dragging the item from
the FeaturePalette on
the surface of the sheetmetal
part. The feature is located
respective to the parts and
critical dimensions can be verified
or changed.
When inserting identical parts
more than two or three times
on the same face, try using
SolidWorks new Sketch Driven
Pattern... feature! First
you create a sketch where the
centerpoints of all the self-clinching
fasteners are located using
the POINT command, then drag'n
drop the first part from the
Feature Palette part. Next click
Insert, Pattern/Mirror, Sketch
Driven Pattern and follow
the prompts. Instantly all the
other parts are inserted where
specified in the Point-Sketch!
